Description
Cercom Soap Stone: Time-Honoured Elegance Reimagined
Introduce the rich history of European stone design to your home with the Soap Stone Collection, meticulously engineered in Italy by Cercom Ceramiche. Valued for generations by master craftsmen and artists for its smooth, malleable nature, authentic soapstone is celebrated for its deep, smoky backgrounds and delicate mineral veining. Cercom has beautifully adapted this rare stone soul into an unyielding, high-performance colored-body porcelain tile—offering modern environments raw geological character without any of the natural stone’s upkeep.
Stocked In-Store Sizes & Refined Finishes
To ensure your project stays on schedule, Local Tile Co maintains a dedicated local inventory of the Soap Stone series in three highly versatile, rectified formats:
- 12″ x 24″ – Perfect for elegant grid lines, staggered brick patterns, or striking bathroom walls.
- 24″ x 24″ – A symmetrical classic that opens up living areas and kitchens seamlessly.
- 24″ x 48″ – A modern large format designed to reduce visual grout joints and build a continuous stone slab feel.
Each stocked colorway—including the crisp Soap White, neutral Soap Grey, rich Soap Coffee, and deep Soap Black—can be customized through your choice of two masterfully calibrated tactile surfaces:
- Natural (Matte): Captures the raw, earthy grit and organic texture of split stone, delivering excellent slip-resistant performance.
- Satin: A smooth, velvety finish that flatters ambient indoor lighting with a soft, glowing sheen while remaining remarkably easy to clean.
The Bespoke Special Order Program
For architectural designs demanding larger proportions or specialized details, the Soap Stone collection features an expanded modular system available through our exclusive special-order program. Custom configurations can be brought in directly for your build, including:
- Massive Panels: Grand statement sizing in 40″x40″ or 48″x48″ floor slabs.
- Wood-Inlaid Porcelains: The unique 24″x48″ Oak (Coffee/Grey) crossover modules that masterfully intertwine wood-grain frames with inset stone texturing.
- Dimensional Accents: Matching 2″x2″ classic mesh-backed mosaics or the highly sculptural 12″x24″ 3D Mosaic panels designed for luxurious statement walls and shower niches.
