Our absolute favourite way to transform a space is to install raw, unfinished premium engineered hardwood, and then sand, custom stain, and finish it right on your site. While it requires true master craftsmanship, it is vastly superior for both the flawless look of your floor and the air quality of your home:

- Zero Factory Off-Gassing: Mass-market pre-finished floors are coated in factories using harsh chemical compounds that can emit harmful Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) into your home for months. By using raw wood, we bypass factory chemicals entirely.
- Eco-Friendly, Low-VOC Site Finishes: Because we finish the floor on-site, we have total control over the products used. We exclusively use premium, ultra-low VOC, eco-friendly stains and water-based seals that protect your indoor air quality and are safe for children and pets.
- The “Zero-Bevel” Advantage: Factory pre-finished boards always feature micro-bevelled edges that create tiny V-shaped valleys between every single plank. Over time, these grooves trap household dust, pet dander, dirt, and allergens. Our site-finished floors are sanded perfectly flat and seamless, leaving absolutely nowhere for dirt to hide.
- Bespoke Custom Staining: Finishing on-site means we don’t pick your colour from a generic box. We test custom stain mixes directly on your installed raw wood planks. This allows you to see exactly how the stain interacts with the natural grain under your home’s specific lighting before we seal it in.

- Built for Canadian Climates: Imported floors are often manufactured in humid, tropical regions. When they hit a dry Ontario winter, they are prone to shrinking, cupping, and gapping. Premium Canadian-made hardwood is acclimated to our brutal seasonal humidity swings right from the factory.
- Engineered for Heated Floors & Basements: Our premium lines feature a heavy-duty, 3-layer solid material core that acts as a powerful structural moisture barrier. It is designed specifically to be laid over radiant in-floor heating, concrete subfloors, or in basements without warping or splitting.
- True 4mm Wear Layers: While cheap imports use paper-thin veneers, our premium wood features a thick 4mm hardwood top layer. This massive wear layer allows your floor to be fully sanded and refinished down the road, giving you the longevity of solid wood.

- Custom Texturing: Add a wire-brushed texture to your floor. Running a wire brush over species like Ash or Oak pulls out the deep natural grain pattern for a gorgeous, textured feel underfoot (available at an additional cost).
