Description
Uncompromising Glamour: Golden Stone by Dune
The Golden Stone collection by Dune stands as an elite showcase of luxury, architectural innovation, and high-fashion surface engineering. Crafted as a defining jewel within the acclaimed Shelter design universe, this small-format 14.7 x 14.7 cm (5.8″ x 5.8″) porcelain tile challenges traditional design boundaries. By fusing a heavy-duty porcelain structural core with an ethereal, high-sheen metallic gold layer, Golden Stone introduces an uncompromised level of sophisticated glamour, texture, and architectural distinction to your projects.
Unlike common metallic tiles or foil accents that quickly tarnish, flake, or corrode when exposed to moisture, Golden Stone utilizes state-of-the-art PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) technology. This advanced manufacturing process molecularly bonds the brilliant gold coating directly to the porcelain substrate. The result is a highly resilient, fade-resistant architectural surface that gracefully tolerates moisture and continuous water submersion—making it a pristine choice for elite home layouts and commercial hospitality builds.
Engineered for High-End Wet Areas, Luxury Pools, and Spas
Golden Stone is purposefully optimized to completely transform wet environments where standard luxury materials fail to perform. It serves as a breathtaking option for lining the interior walls of upscale swimming pools, custom infinity edges, commercial spa thermal rooms, and luxury hot tub surrounds. When installed underwater, the reflective gold surface plays dynamically with light waves, throwing shimmering reflections across your entire courtyard or wellness facility.
To ensure complete design freedom and compliance across diverse spaces, Local Tile Co. offers the collection in three targeted functional finishes:
- Golden Stone Glossy: The ultimate high-reflection, mirror-like finish. It maximizes light scattering and is ideal for statement kitchen backsplashes, shower accent columns, and commercial bar facings.
- Golden Stone Anti-Slip: A specialized slip-retardant surface engineered specifically for safety. It allows you to run the radiant gold aesthetic onto wet shower floors, pool steps, zero-entry ledges, and spa walkways without compromising traction.
- Golden Stone Bullnose: A matching trim profile designed to form flawless outer corners, niche frames, and clean edge transitions. It completely eliminates the need for plastic or metal miter strips, preserving a seamless, high-end stone look.
The Beauty of Organic Metallic Shade Variation
A key hallmark of the Golden Stone series is its rich, highly artisanal visual personality. Because the PVD coating is applied over distinct tile surfaces, the metallic layer reacts uniquely with the underlying structural tile and the anti-slip coatings. This advanced reaction creates a noticeable, random, and beautifully uncontrollable shade variation from tile to tile. This intentional shifting ensures that no two walls look exactly alike, mimicking the natural, non-uniform luxury of real gold veins found in nature.
