PATCHWORK
PATCHWORK B+Wis a collection of small-sized tiles (from 20x20 to 15x15 cm) that Ceramica Sant'Agostino has created to decorate residential or commercial spaces, on walls or floors, through graphic stylistic features and color combinations that refer to, reinterpreting the tradition of stoneware cement tiles in a contemporary key. The subjects of the cement tiles, born in the early decades of the 1900s in France, are still divided today between "floral" and "geometric", according to the two cultural trends that were dominant at the time: respectively, Liberty and Art Déco, developed between 1910 and 1920, and the futurist one, characteristic of the 30s and 40s of the last century.
Patchwork Classic tiles embody the aesthetic naturalness of the tradition. To obtain the iconic patchwork patterns,cementine were made by hand pouring a mixture of coloured cement with natural pigments and sand in decorative molds, to obtain, usually, colours based on gray and brown tones.Patchwork tiles aesthetics is associated with innovation of the porcelain stoneware technology to produce tile with the measure of the most refined modern decor along with the widest variety of applications and the highest performance in terms of quality and durability.
